FUNDRAISING AT FINNEBROGUE
The Barbershop Quartet
We were very lucky that the Barbershop Quartet (Close Enough) performed at Finnebrogue for the charity on September 21st. They last sang in support of Hope for Youth (NI) in August 2021 and it was a great pleasure to see them return. Tom Eyre-Maunsell, Tom Rogers, Johnny Shipley and Edward Allen all over-lapped at Oxford and have remained firm friends ever since.
The barbershop style is a four-part harmony without musical accompaniment or a cappella. The songs performed during what was a most entertaining evening included many old favourites among them "Call it Nostalgia", "Hello, Dolly!", "The Masochism Tango", "When I Fall in Love" and "Waltzing Matilda" The audience gamely participated in one song and the weather was kind enough to allow drinks at the front of the house.
A considerable sum was raised, all thanks to the Quartet, our guests and trustees and friends who made the canapés.
